Train the creators before you brief them.

  • Teach creators your product, your category and how you want them to work.
  • They enrol.
  • They learn.
  • They complete the course.
  • They get certified.
  • Then your next brief starts with creators who already understand the basics.

The problem

Most bad creator content is not a talent problem.

  • It is a briefing problem.
  • A creator gets a brief.
  • They have never used the product.
  • They don't understand the category.
  • They don't know which claims are allowed.
  • They don't know which claims are not allowed.
  • They don't know the difference between your product lines.
  • So the first draft comes back wrong.
  • Then someone has to explain it.
  • The creator rewrites it.
  • Someone reviews it again.
  • Another correction comes back.
  • The campaign loses another day.
  • Then you brief another creator.
  • And explain the same things again.
  • You can put all of that into the brief.
  • But a brief is not training.
  • People skim briefs.

They don't absorb an entire category because they read a document the night before shooting. Brand Academy gives you another option. Teach the basics once. Certify the creators who learn them. Then brief from a stronger starting point.

What is Brand Academy?

Brand Academy lets brands create free certification courses for creators.

  • Teach them:
  • Your products.
  • Your category.
  • Your terminology.
  • Your rules.
  • The claims they can make.
  • The claims they cannot make.
  • How you want your products represented.
  • What good work looks like.
  • Creators enrol.
  • They complete the lessons and quizzes.
  • They receive a certificate.

And your brand can see how many creators have enrolled, completed the course and become certified.

Build the course in Campus

Brand Academy uses the same curriculum builder as Campus.

  • Create the course.
  • Add the lessons.
  • Add quizzes.
  • Add assignments where needed.
  • Add the certificate.
  • Publish it.

The course builder is already there. Brand Academy gives it a different purpose: Training the creators who work with your brand.

Teach the things that actually go wrong

You do not need to turn your brand history into a course.

  • Creators don't need ten lessons about your founding story.
  • They need the things that affect the work.
  • Which product is which.
  • What the product actually does.
  • Which claims are allowed.
  • Which claims are prohibited.
  • How the product should be represented.
  • What a good piece of creator content looks like.

The course should answer the questions creators otherwise ask after receiving the brief.

Certify the creators who finish

Watching a lesson is not the same as understanding it.

Brand Academy lets you use quizzes to check whether the creator actually understood what they were taught. Then, when they complete the course, they receive a certificate. The certificate gives the creator something tangible to show. And gives the brand a clearer signal that the creator has completed its training.

See the numbers

You can see what is happening inside your Academy.

  • Courses published.
  • Creators enrolled.
  • Creators completed.
  • Certificates issued.
  • Completion rate.

You also get a thirty-day trend on enrolments. So you can see whether the training is actually being taken up rather than simply publishing a course and hoping people find it.

For brands

Build the training once.

  • Publish it free.
  • Let creators enrol.
  • Track who completes it.
  • Certify the people who finish.

Then use that certified pool when you need creators who already understand your category. You spend less time repeating the basics. Your creators start with more context. Your briefs can focus on the actual campaign rather than teaching the product from scratch.

For creators

A certification from a brand you want to work with is useful.

  • It shows that you took the time to learn the brand's products and requirements.
  • It gives you something to show on your creator profile.
  • And it can put you closer to the people commissioning creator work.
  • You are not just saying:
  • "I want to work with this brand."
  • You have completed its training.

How it works

From course to certified creator

Create the course

Name the Academy course and open the curriculum builder.

Build the curriculum

Add lessons, quizzes and assignments around the knowledge creators actually need.

Teach the category

Cover your products, product lines, claims, rules and the standards you expect from creators.

Add the certificate

Set up the certification that creators receive when they complete the course.

Publish it

Publish the Academy course for creators to enrol in.

Creators enrol

Creators interested in working with your brand can take the course.

They complete the training

Lessons and quizzes give them the knowledge they need before they start working with you.

Certification is issued

Creators who complete the course receive their certificate.

Build your certified pool

Use the certification as an additional signal when identifying creators to work with.

Brief them

When the campaign begins, your creators already understand the basics.

Three use cases

Regulated claims

A skincare brand works with creators who need to understand exactly what they can and cannot claim about its products. Previously, every campaign starts with the same explanations. The first drafts still come back with claims that need to be removed. The brand creates a short Academy course covering its products, category rules and prohibited claims.

  • Creators complete the training.
  • They take the quizzes.
  • They receive certification.
  • The next campaign starts with creators who already understand the rules.

Building a creator pool before you need one

A brand runs creator campaigns every quarter. Every time a new campaign begins, the team starts creator outreach again. Instead, the brand publishes an Academy course and opens it to creators interested in working with the brand. Creators enrol throughout the year. The brand can see how many have completed the course and been certified.

When the next campaign starts, there is already a pool of trained creators to work from.

A credential creators actually want

A creator wants to work with a particular brand. The brand has a certification course covering its products, category and creator requirements. The creator completes it. They receive the certification. Now the creator has something they can show as evidence that they understand the brand. The brand gets a trained creator.

The creator gets a credential. Both sides get something useful from the same process.

Brand Academy + Campus

Brand Academy uses the Campus curriculum builder.

The underlying course-building experience is the same. The difference is the purpose. Campus is where paid courses live. Brand Academy is for brands teaching creators how to work with their products and category. Build the curriculum in Campus. Publish it through Brand Academy. Explore Campus

Brand Academy + Campaigns

Certification becomes more useful when it connects to actual creator work.

Once you have creators who understand your brand, Campaigns gives you the infrastructure to brief and work with them.

  • Train them.
  • Certify them.
  • Then run the campaign.
  • Explore Campaigns

Brand Academy + Product Seeding

Sometimes the best way to teach a creator about your product is to put the product in their hands. Product Seeding lets brands get products to creators. Brand Academy can teach them what they need to know. Product Seeding gets the product to them. Explore Product Seeding

Brand Academy + Approval Chain

Training does not eliminate the need for approval.

It reduces the amount of basic knowledge that has to be repeated before the work starts. Creators learn the rules in Brand Academy. Your internal teams can still use Approval Chain for the decisions that need formal review.

Brand Academy vs teaching through the Brief

A brief tells someone what this campaign needs.

Brand Academy teaches them what they need to know before the campaign begins.

Things to know

KEEP IT SHORT.

  • A creator should be able to finish the course.
  • Six useful lessons are better than twenty lessons nobody completes.
  • TEACH THE MISTAKES.
  • The most useful Academy content is usually not the brand history.
  • It is the information that prevents bad work.
  • Which claims are prohibited.
  • Which product line is which.
  • What creators repeatedly get wrong.
  • What good work looks like.
  • A CERTIFICATE SHOULD MEAN SOMETHING.

If everyone receives the certificate simply for opening the course, it stops being useful. Use quizzes to check that the training actually landed. THE COURSE IS FREE. Brand Academy courses are free for creators because the return for the brand is trained creators, not course revenue. If you want to sell teaching, that belongs in a normal Campus course.

  • CERTIFICATION IS NOT A CONTRACT.
  • A creator being certified does not define what they have been hired to deliver.
  • The campaign still needs its own Brief, Agreement and commercial terms.
  • CERTIFICATION IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF GOOD CONTENT.
  • It gives you evidence that the creator completed the training.
  • It does not guarantee that every piece of content will be perfect.

But it can remove the mistakes that come from not understanding the category in the first place. THE POOL IS THE POINT. The real value is not one creator completing one course. It is building a pool of creators who already understand your brand before you need them.
