Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
1. Introduction
Klairova Technologies Limited ("we", "us", or "our") operates the platform available at klairova.com, the market layer of the creator economy: a platform that helps brands measure the real impact of creator partnerships and helps creators prove and monetise the results they drive. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our platform, whether as a brand, creator, or visitor.
By creating an account or using Klairova, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Who We Are
Klairova Technologies Limited operates the market layer of the creator economy, built for creators and brands across Africa and beyond. We help brands track and verify the real impact of their creator partnerships, clicks, signups, sales, and engagement, and help creators prove and get paid for the results they actually drive.
For questions about this policy, contact us at: [email protected]
3. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
a) Account Information
- Full name, email address, password (hashed)
- Account type (brand or creator)
- Gender and date of birth (required for age verification)
- Profile photo or logo
- Country of residence
- Phone number (optional, for invoicing and rate cards)
- Unique @tag (creator handle)
b) Business Information (Brands)
- Company name, website, industry
- Company logo
- Campaign details (name, budget, tracking URLs, conversion goals)
- Payment details used to fund campaigns
- Business registration status (registered or unregistered/Freelancer)
- Registration type (Business Name or Limited Company)
- CAC registration number (BN or RC number, where applicable)
- Corporate Tax Identification Number (TIN)
c) Creator / Influencer Information
- Bio, niche, audience size range, availability status
- Portfolio items and digital products
- Rate cards and pricing information
- Bank or payout account details, so we can pay you
- Invoice history
- Residential address (required for KYC before payouts)
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Tax Identification Number (TIN) issued by the Joint Tax Board (JTB)
d) Social Media Data
When you connect a social media account to Klairova (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), we collect:
- Your platform username and profile ID
- Follower / subscriber count
- Post-level engagement metrics: views, likes, comments, shares, saves, reach, and impressions, for posts you explicitly link to a campaign
- The access credentials that let us read the data you authorised, stored encrypted
For analytics we only pull data from posts that you explicitly tag to a campaign inside Klairova. We do not access your contacts or your followers list, and we do not read content you have not linked to a campaign.
If you switch on the Klairova inbox for Facebook or Instagram, we read and store the direct messages and comments on the accounts you connected, so that you can read and reply to them inside Klairova. This happens only for accounts you connect yourself, only while the connection is active, and you can disconnect at any time. We never read messages on accounts you have not connected.
e) Campaign Tracking Data
- Clicks, unique clicks, views, signups, downloads, and purchases
- IP addresses, shortened before they are stored so they cannot identify a single household or device
- Device type and browser (for reporting)
- Referral cookies (30-day, set on tracked links)
- A reference code added to the destination web address when someone follows a tracked link, so the advertiser can tell which creator sent each visitor
- Conversion events the brand’s website reports to us
- Where a brand chooses to send it, the buyer’s email address and phone number, used only to match a sale to an advertising account. These are converted into an irreversible code the moment they reach us and the plain values are never written to our database
- Advertising cookies already present on the brand’s own website, and the web address of the page where a sale happened
h) Customers of Klairova-Hosted Sales
Some purchases happen on Klairova itself rather than on a seller’s own website: a course on Campus, a book on Imprint, a product in the Market, a ticket to an event, a paid community membership, or a checkout on a Klairova page or funnel. In those cases you are buying through Klairova, we handle the payment, and we issue your receipt. We collect your name, email address and, where you provide it, your phone number.
For those purchases Klairova is a data controller in its own right, alongside the seller. Both we and the seller hold your contact details. Purchases made on a seller’s own external website are different: there we only ever see the anonymous or coded conversion data described in section (e), and you do not become a Klairova contact.
f) Communications
- Support messages sent through our in-platform chat
- Direct messages between creators and brands on the platform
- Feature suggestions you submit
g) Technical Data
- Browser type, operating system, time zone
- Pages visited, time spent on platform
- Error logs (for debugging purposes)
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Run and attribute creator campaigns
- Display campaign analytics and social media engagement metrics to you and the brand you are working with
- Take payments and send payouts
- Send transactional emails (invoices, campaign invites, notifications)
- Send onboarding and feature-update emails (you may unsubscribe)
- Send push notifications (only if you grant permission)
- Provide customer support
- Improve the platform based on usage patterns and feedback
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
- Where a brand has switched it on, report their own sales back to their own advertising account, and build audiences from those sales for them (see section 6b)
- Contact you about Klairova, if you bought something on a Klairova-hosted surface as described in section 3(h)
If you bought through Klairova
Because the purchase happened on Klairova, we may email you about your purchase, about the platform, and about things we think you would want to know, such as new work from creators you have bought from. Every one of those emails carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing is permanent: buying again will not put you back on the list. Emails about a purchase you actually made, such as receipts and access details, are sent regardless because you need them.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not use your data to target advertising for our own benefit, and we never build audiences for one brand out of another brand’s customers.
5. Social Media Integrations
You can connect social accounts to Klairova. Connecting is always optional, always initiated by you, and always goes through that platform’s own consent screen, which tells you exactly what you are granting before you agree.
Where you connect an account for analytics, we read audience size and the public engagement figures on posts you yourself link to a campaign. Where you connect an account for messaging, we read and store the messages and comments on that account so you can reply to them inside Klairova. We do not read anything on accounts you have not connected.
You can disconnect any account at any time from your settings. On disconnection we delete the stored access credentials for that account. Engagement figures already recorded against a campaign may be retained as part of that campaign’s record.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
a) Within the Platform
- Brands can see the campaign performance metrics of creators they have invited to their campaigns
- Creator profile information (name, bio, rate cards, portfolio) is publicly visible on the Klairova directory unless you set your account to private
- Brands cannot see your bank details or payout information
b) Advertising Platforms, at a Brand’s Instruction
A brand can connect its own advertising account to Klairova. Where it has, and only in respect of that brand’s own customers, we pass that advertising platform a record that a sale or signup happened, its value, and the irreversible codes described in section 3(e), so the brand can measure and target its own advertising. Meta is the platform supported today.
We never pass on a plain email address or phone number. One brand’s data is never combined with another’s, and Klairova does not advertise to these people itself. The brand chooses whether this is switched on and is responsible for having the right to share its customers’ data. You can object at any time using the contact details in section 15.
c) Service Providers
We use a small number of specialist providers to run the platform. They act on our instructions, receive only what they need to perform their function, and may not use it for anything else. They fall into these categories:
- Licensed payment providers, to take payments and send payouts
- Cloud hosting and file storage providers
- Email and notification delivery providers
- The social platforms you choose to connect, for the data you authorise
If you need to know which specific providers process your personal data, for example to exercise a right under data protection law, contact us at [email protected] and we will tell you.
d) Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Klairova, our users, or others.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Session cookiesto keep you logged in while using the platform
- CSRF tokensto protect against cross-site request forgery attacks
- Referral tracking cookies (
klairova_ref), set when someone clicks a campaign tracking link. These are 30-day cookies used to attribute conversions to the correct creator. They are not used for advertising.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell cookie data to advertisers.
8. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:
- Account data is retained for the lifetime of your account and up to 90 days after deletion
- Campaign and tracking data is retained indefinitely for historical reporting purposes
- Social account access credentials are deleted immediately on disconnecting your account
- Support conversation logs are retained for 12 months
- IP addresses used for click deduplication are not stored beyond 24 hours

- Access credentials stored encrypted at rest
- Database access restricted to application servers only
